"I, Gabriel Booth, being of sound mind and memory, knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, I therefore resign my soul unto God who gave it and my body to be decently buried in a christian like manner. First of all, I wish for all of my just debts to be paid. (Second), I wish for my wife Elizabeth, after my death, to have my house and plantation and my (slaves) Will and Warley(?) and Jane and Liza and Silvy during her life or marriage and, if she marries, then to have a child's part, and after her death to be divided among my children. (Third) I wish for my son Victor S. Booth heirs to have all of the property coming from my estate to him so that none of it is to be traded or sold by him, nor to be subject to any of his contracts, and further, I wish for his children to have the land whereon he now lives besides his full share in my estate. (Fourth) I wish for son Wm. S. Booth to have his full share of my estate and also wish my daughter Polly Parham to have her equal part of my estate. I also wish for my daughter Catherine Butler heirs to have her full share so that George S. Butler is not to have any control of it nor is it to be subject to any part of his debts and to remain in the hands of my Executors, only to go to the use of Catherine and the children. I also give and bequeath unto my son Nathaniel Booth's heirs his full share of my estate and not to be subject for any part of his debts but to go to the use of his family. I also give unto my son Absolom Booth's heirs his full share of my estate so that it shall not be liable for any of his debts. I also give unto Lucy Ann Colvards heirs her full share and if she dies leaving no heirs, then to revert back to my estate. I also give unto my son John Booth his full share and a horse to be equal with the rest of my children. I also wish for all my children to be made up equal in horses, cows and (?) and other things. I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Melissas E. Moon her full share of my estate and, if I have not named all of my children, for them to come in and have their share which is ten in number. I also wish at the death of my wife for Silvy not to be sold nor divided but to choose her home among my children and live with whom she will. I wish after my death for all the balance of the property that my wife does not want to keep to be sold and divided among the children agreeable to my will but she is to keep what she wants to support (her) during her life or marriage. I also appoint my son-in-law Isham Parham, and my son Wm. S. Booth, and my wife Elizabeth Executors and Executrix to this my last will and Testament this the 15 day of March 1844.
