 The parents of William Moor are not known at this time. However, deeds and other documents dated in the early 1800's in Williamson Co., Tenn. lead me to believe that his mother's name was Mary and that his father had died or disappeared before about 1804 or so. As will be explained later in this report, the name Mary Cartright is mentioned among the papers of William Moor's daughter, Mary Moor Nichols, in such a manner that leads me to believe that this may have been her name. Further research into this name has not resolved this issue at this time.
