Notes
a. Note:   N318 "One of eleven children" per Ruth's letter. Last name changed from Kabochnick to Kobotsnick due to preponderance of documents that have it spelled that way as well as his headstone. Jacob had a brother Yehuda Karbatznick. That family has a website with lots of information at http://karbatznick.com. Citizenship papers submitted by 1920 Census.
Jacob may be the person shown as “Jankel” in the 1874 Borisov Revision List. Jankel was born in 1852, his wife Sora was born in 1852, and they lived in the home of his older brother Fishk Kabachnick (son of Borukh b. 1825) and Fishk’s wife Rokha (b. 1851) along with younger brothers Abram (b. 1858), Itsko (b. 1865), Berko (b. 1868), and Idel (b. 1870) and sisters Tsypa (b. 1861), Rokha (b. 1867) and Sosia (b. 1872).
