  BIOGRAPHY: RAYMOND was born March 1, 1892 in New Vienna, Iowa, where his parents were living following their return from Idaho. When he was about one year old they moved to Albion, Nebraska to the farm purchased by his father three miles north of Albion. He attended District 1 school one-half mile north-west of the farm, and for a short time the Academy in Spalding, Nebraska. He married a neighbor girl, Anna Redler, on February 3,1915. Raymond & Anna moved to a 160 acre farm that Anton purchased in the early 1900's. The farm was about one fourth mile north and about one half mile west of the original farm where Anton & Mary lived. Raymond and his wife lived on the farm until 1927 when a new house was built on that farm. They moved to the farm approximately three-fourths mile northwest of the home place which his father had purchased a few years previously. In 1945 they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he purchased a home at 5812 Brookside Avenue. He first worked as a salesman for an insurance company, and later for the Massman Construction Company until he retired. Following retirement he worked for the Roxborough Company until he fully retired in 1973. He died February 4, 1975.
  DEATH: Raymond H. Hoefer, 83, died on Feb. 4, 1975 at his home in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City on Friday, Feb. 7. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery at Kansas City.
 Raymond H. Hoefer was born on March 1, 1892 ill New Vienna, IA to Anton V. and Mary Abeln Hoefer. At the age of two he came to Nebraska with his parents and lived on a farm three miles north of Albion.
 He was married to Anna Redler in February, 1915 in Albion. They were the parents of 13 children. The family lived on a farm four miles north of Albion until 1945 when they moved to Kansas City. Mr. Hoefer was employed there as a saleman for the Roxborough Company of Kansas City until his retirement two years ago. He was preceded in death by three children who died in infancy; his parents; and one sister, Mrs. Florence Kunzman.
 Mr. Hoefer is survived by his widow, Anna; four sons, Robert F. Hoefer of Kansas City, Raymond F. Hoefer, of Longview, TX, and Donald L. Hoefer and Richard L. Hoefer, both of Overland Park, KS; six daughters, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Chicago, IL, Mrs. Margaret Nelson, Sepulveda, CA, Mrs; Leona Atchity, Kansas City, Mrs. Marcella Gfeller, Omaha, Mrs. Barbara Atchity, Cameron, MO and Mrs. Dorothy Woerdehoff, Cape Elizabeth, Maine. He is also survived by two brothers, Leo Hoefer, Omaha, and Frank Hoefer, Albion; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Anderson, Kansas City and Mrs. Leonna Fitzgerald and Mrs. Rose Getzfrid, both of Albion; 34 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
