OBITUARY: Services Friday for Mrs Durbin Death took another of Malvern long-time residents this week, Mrs Mary Durbin, who had been making her home for several months with her daughter in Omaha, died in an Omaha hospital. Funeral services be belt Friday at 2:30 p. m., in the Methodist church in Malvern, with Mansfield Funeral Home in charge. They will be conducted by the Rev. John A. Lippincott. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Christy, she was born on a farm north of Malvern. She was married to Fred Durbin in 1901 and they continued to make their home here until his death. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Leo Heefer and family of Omaha, a brother, Charles of Tampa, Texas, and other relatives and friends. BIOGRAPHY: Lived her final years with her daughter Dorothy & Leo Hoefer, 9250 Pine Ave, Omaha, NE. After her stroke she died in an Omaha hospital. BIOGRAPHY: Born about 4.5 miles NW of Malvern Dec. 15 1878. Parents moved to Malvern March 17, 1889. Attended public school in Malvern, graduated from Malvern High School in 1896. She married Fred Durbin Nov. 27, 1901. United with Malvern Methodist Church in 1901. Always attended Sunday School and Church regularly, first in a school house in the country then at East Liberty, after the Conference took the Briggs school house off the Silver City charge. A member of Eastern Star. BIOGRAPHY: Admitted Oct. 18, 1919 to the Daughters of the American Revolution, by virtue of descent from Rev. Nathaniel Russell, who was a corporal during the war.
