BIOGRAPHY: Dorothy Durbin graduated from Malvern Iowa high school in May 1931. Her first year in college was at a college in northern Texas. A high school teacher had recommended it. Dorothy wasn't happy there so the next year she attended a school in Park College in Parkville, Missouri. The last two years were at the University of Iowa where she graduated on Feb 4, 1936 with a B.A. in English. In 1939 and 1940 she is living at the Sanford-Conant Hotel in Omaha while working at the Federal Land Bank. She started at that bank on or before 1938. Since her secretarial experiences where minimal she had to improve her shorthand skills. Leo & Dorothy met in 1938. They both worked at the Federal Land Bank of Omaha. After Leo and Dorothy married they lived in a place near the Omaha Cathedral until Leo entered the military. Dorothy then moved back to Malvern to live with her parents. When Leo returned after the war they moved to 515 South 31 Ave in Omaha.
