a. Note:   1858: Curtis and family moved to Dale Co., Alabama, probably in the Fall-Winter of 1858. Curtis J Kea land transaction for 160.12 acres; Elba land office; dated 11/1/1858; Vol. 065. [Duncan was age 2]
  1867: 'In 1867, Curtis Ivey and his family traveled via boat to New Orleans and Monroe, La., and by wagons to Minden, La. With Curtis and his family; Zachary Kea and his family; Winifred and her sons John and William W. and his family; Mary Ann's sons; Thomas; and Leonard Kinchen Mozingo and his family. Mary Ann lost one child at sea during the trip. There were about 50 men, women, and children in the party.' ['Eleven Generations'] [Duncan was age 11]
