a. Note:   1900: James enumerated in the Thomas Kea household census of 1900 lists grand-son Dupree, 9/1892; grand-daughter Eunice, 12/1893; grand-son Thomas, 4/1895; and grand-son Horace, Dec 1899. [gen.com, electronic, page 14a, electronic]
  1910: James enumerated with parents in Burleson census.
  1924: James handled the final expenses of his mother, Justina. His address at the time was RFD 2, Rockdale, Milan County, Texas. (from record #24669)
  1934: 'Jim Key passed away at his home Sunday. He had lived with his brother Robert for the past 5 - 6 years. He was buried at Blackjack Cemetery. He is survived by four brothers and two sisters; Robert, Wiley, Tom, Ivy, Mrs. Ethel Brown, and Mrs. Nettie Tuma.' (from the Caldwell newspaper, Wednesday, June 6, 1934.) [Death certificate states he was single]
