1959: 'Thomas died in the early evening last Thursday, (September 3rd). He was the son of Thomas and Justina Elliott Key, being one of ten children. He married Lois Richardson on November 6, 1901; they had 4 sons and 3 daughters. He was a Baptist, and survived by his wife, sons Hicks, Leonard, and Grover, and daughters Mrs. Willie Willard, Mrs. Beatrice Holton, and Mrs. Velma Morrison. Also surviving is his brother Ivy and sister Mrs. Nettie Tuma.' (from the Rockdale Reporter and Caldwell newspapers, Friday, September 11, 1959.)
