Note: 1836: Nicey was named after her mother's sister, Nicey Jane. 1859-62: Four of Curtis Kea's children marry in Dale County; Franklin, Nicey, Hannah, and Margaren. 1860: Nicey and Peter enumerated in the Newton, Dale County, Alabama census, page 527, image 31/263, dated July 10, 1860, electronic. 1865: 'Nicey went home and lived with her parents after the war. Her parents reared her sons Wesley and Barto.' [Eleven Generations, page 9] 1867: 'In 1867, Curtis Ivey and his family traveled via boat to New Orleans and Monroe, La., and by wagons to Minden, La. With Curtis and his family; Zachary Kea and his family; Winnifred and her sons John and William W. and his family; Mary Ann's sons; Thomas; and Kinchen Mozingo and his family. Mary Ann lost one child at sea during the trip. There were about 50 men, women, and children in the party.'
