'Emette had really RED hair and large freckles as a teenager.' [courtesy of Daphne Jones Essl, Houston, Texas.] 1940's: 'Emette made a trip to New Mexico with his sister and brother-in-law, Robbie and 'Cap,' in an old Model 'T.' 'Aunt Robbie' said Emette would trim his toenails and then slice and eat an apple with his pocket knife.' [Daphne Essl] 1952: Emette, licensed to preach the Gospel by the First Baptist Church in Rockdale, Texas, was educated at Decatur Baptist College, Howard Payne University, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. 1955: Key Reunion, held at Fair Park, 2nd Sunday in July; Porter's 1st cousin Emette and family, from Rockdale, attended.
