Note: 1873: "(Curtis and Gatsey) went back to (visit) in Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina in 1873." ['Eleven Generations,' Helena 'Lena' Kea Green.] 1893: "(Curtis and Aunt Dora) went to visit Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina in 1893." ['Eleven Generations,' Helena 'Lena' Kea Green.] 1896: 'I was 11 years old when (my grandfather C I Kea) died.' Eleven Generations, page 14, Lena Green 1900: Jacson S and family (Lena) enumerated in the Ward 4, Webster Parish, Louisiana census, page 93. [gen.com, electronic] 1903: 'William (Uncle Bill) lived with us 1903-1905.' [Eleven Generations, p. 5] 1906: Helena married her 2nd cousin, James Hicks, in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, 7/7/1906. 1910: James and family (wife, Lennie M) enumerated in the Dist 281, St Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas, image 29 of 29, page 211A, electronic. 1900's: Helena taught 5th grade math for many years; at Old East Ward, R C Andrews, Baker, and McCoy schools. 1961: 'Lena' Green receives a copy of THE TIMBERMAN, from John Wallace McKea's son Wallace; it was dated September, 1940. Wallace adds his personal notes about his dad; the copy is written about his father. 1962: Wallace McKea and his wife visit 'Lena' Green; 12/6/1962 - 12/10/1962. Wallace and wife also visit Mrs John Pratt (Edna) Miller in El Paso, before returning to California. [Mrs. Edna Miller was Lena's sister, and custodian of 'Eleven Kea Generations.'] 1967: Included in 'Lena' Green's personal files in Texas, was a letter, written to Thomas Pipes on December 15, 1967. The writer, Mr. Horace F Rudisell, stated: 'I knew the daughter of John Wesley Alexander, a maiden lady who died several years ago and was about 88 years of age. She did not know anything about the Kea's, except that her grandmother Delila was a Kea.' [Of John Wesley Alexander's daughters, Maggie Alexander, who died in 1965 at age 86, is the only one that fits the profile described by Mr. Rudisell.] LFK Note: This is an amazing piece of information; in it (Rudisell) gives 'Lena' Green information about the Thomas Kea Will, and information about the South Carolina Kea family; that did not fit her "Kea Generations" profile. Further, (Rudisell) stated to Lena: 'I am satisfied that 'Leonore' and 'Lanie' Kea is the same person and that she was the daughter of James Johnson of Lenoir County, North Carolina.' 'Lena' Green was the Kea family historian; she wrote the unpublished "Eleven Generations of Kea and Key families." [The above information was provided courtesy of the Floyd County Historical Museum, PO Box 304, Floydada, Texas 79235. The Kea/Key family records are maintained in the 'J. H. Green' file.]
