Will Book, Vol. 3, p. 40-41, p. 66-67) 1740: William named as legatee brother in will of Robert Fenn Kae, dated 2/10/1740. 1746-1750: William (Kinchen), William (Keys), and William (Kinchen), Jr., (Grantor/Grantee Index of Johnston, Dobbs, and Lenoir Counties, NC; Book 1, Johnston County, Nov. 1746 to April 1750, pp's 23, 31, 49) 1750-1754: William (Keys) to William Belk*, page 216; (Grantor/Grantee Index of Johnston, Dobbs, and Lenoir Counties, NC; Book 2, Johnston County, Apr. 1750 to April 1754.) William (Kichen) also recorded, page 153. (William Belk* recorded in Loftin District, Lenoir County, in Dobbs 1780 Tax List; South of Neuse River near Kinston.) 1758: Dobbs County formed from eastern part of Johnston County. 1761: Robert Kea married Rachel Kitchen in 1761; the daughter of William (Kitchen) and Elizabeth Drake, who was a daughter of Dr. Paul Drake. Robert and Elizabeth had children; Kinchen-1765, John-1769, Drucilla -1772, Sabra-1774, William - 1780. William Walton Kitchin was US Representative, 1897-1909; and Governor of North Carolina, 1909-1913. 1771: Robert Kea obtained a land grant of 300 acres in then Dobbs County, NC (now part of Lenoir County), on 11/14/1771. Edward Woodham, father of Ariss Woodham; Benjamin Skinner, father of Lemuel Skinner; and James Johnson, father of LEONORE JOHNSON; also owned land in the Dobbs (Lenoir County) area in the 1760's.
