  1761: Robert Kea married Rachel Kitchen in 1761; the daughter of William (Kitchen) and Elizabeth Drake, who was a daughter of Dr. Paul Drake. Robert and Elizabeth had children; Kinchen-1765, John-1769, Drucilla -1772, Sabra-1774, William - 1780. William Walton Kitchin was US Representative, 1897-1909; and Governor of North Carolina, 1909-1913.
  1771: Robert Kea obtained a land grant of 300 acres in then Dobbs County, NC (now part of Lenoir County), on 11/14/1771. Edward Woodham, father of Ariss Woodham; Benjamin Skinner, father of Lemuel Skinner; and James Johnson, father of LEONORE JOHNSON; also owned land in the Dobbs (Lenoir County) area in the 1760's.
