  1858: Francis purchases tract of land in Dale County, Alabama; Section 25 & 30, Township 5N, Range 25E & 26E; Patent #22734, dated 11/1/1858. This land is located south / southwest of Echo and northeast of Newton, near Mount Enon Church, 312337N, 852824W. [also see his father's nearby tract]
  1859-62: Four of Curtis Kea's children marry in Dale County; Franklin, Nicey, Hannah, and Margaren.
  1860: Franklin's first child, Sarah Jane, born in Chambers County, Texas; 2/10/1860.
  1861: Franklin's second child, Mary Ann, born in Liberty County, Texas; 9/1861.

With Curtis and his family; Zachary Kea and his family; Winifred and her sons John and William W. and his family; Mary Ann's sons; Thomas; and Leonard Kinchen Mozingo and his family.   1870: Francis recorded in the 1870 Federal census, Claiborne Parish, La., 3 W. Homer, page 60. His father Curtis is recorded in the 1870 Federal census, Claiborne Parish, La., 4 W. Minden, page 128. [FTM CD #319]
  1878: 'Franklin (Uncle Frank), age 44, was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery. It was an awful time, 16 inches of snow and the ground frozen 12 inches deep. In order to open the grave, we had to build fires on top of the ground.' [statement of Lena's mother, 'Trona Rena.']
  1967: In a 3/6/1967 letter from 'Lena' Green to Thomas E Pipes, Lake Charles, La., 'Lena' states that her only brother, Edwin Franklin, was named after his uncle, Franklin Albright Kea. 'Lena' states that the family never knew Franklin by the name Francis, it was always 'Uncle Frank.' [Thomas Pipes married the great-grandaughter of Franklin; Ruby Cockrell.]
