Note: 1621: Philip Lupo came to Virginia on the George in 1621. 1624: Philip Lupo; the son of Philip Lupo, Goldsmith of London; was recorded in the February 16, 1624 census, living at Elizabeth Cittie, Va. 1628: Robert Kæ (the Elder) birth; [see 1664 entry] 1629: Warrasquyoake Parish existed in 1629. By 1643, the county was divided lengthwise, using the Pagan River as the dividing line between the Upper and Lower Parish. The Upper Parish name was changed to Warrasquyoake Parish, and the Lower Parish name was changed to Newport Parish. In 1734, these Parishes were divided at the Blackwater River. The upper parts were combined and named Nottoway Parish, the lower parts were named Newport Parish. In 1749, all of Nottoway Parish formed the new county of Southampton, leaving all of Newport in Isle of Wight (IOW) County. 1658: Robert Kea and Edward Bechinoe serve on Isle of Wight County, Va., Grand Jury, dated 6/9/1658; Maj. Nicholas Hill, Plaintiff vs. John Snellock, defendant (land dispute) recorded 28 July, 1658. Phillip's uncle, Albiano, was an 'Ancient Planter,' arriving in Virginia in 1610.
