a. Continued:   George came to America at age 12 with his mother and brothers and sisters to join their father in St. Louis, MO. He made a trip to Scotland in 1909; also trip to Scotland in 1965 after marrying Nel Mudge and where he died after being married 13 days. His ashes were scattered in Glasgow, Scotland in the Garden of Remembrance. George saw service in France in 1917, 1918, 1919.
  George was born in Broxburn, Parish of Uphall County of Linlithgow near Leith Scotland 11/1/1889 at 5 am. He married Mabel Grace Perrine 25 Jun 1917 in Vancouver, Washington where he lived the rest of his life. He was naturalized a US citizen on July 12, 1919.
b. Continued:   Dying while on a wedding trip to visit his homeland in Scotland, George Sutherland's ashes were scattered in the Garden of Remembrance in Glasgow. Betty Skinner, a niece who visited this Garden, said his name is listed in a book in the cemetery there.
