Continued: Mabel Perrine Sutherland, wife to George Sutherland from Scotland, was a nurse. She died at age 42 at her home on Hanney Hill in Vancouver due to heart failure, likely related to a weakening of her heart from having had having scarlet fever as a child. Mabel had retired as usual in the evening prior to her death and never woke out of sleep. Her only child George was 9 at the time of her death.
Mabel prepared a several generation family history of both Perrines and Sutherlands for her son, perhaps expecting she would die young. She must have really been interested in the family history, apparently spent quite a bit of time researching it in a time when information was not so readily available. It has turned out that almost all of the information she included in her small notebook was correct. She made reference to the book Daniel Perrine the Huguenot; one wonders if she knew her grandfather Dana Perrine (called Dany) was actually mentioned in the book.
