a. Note:   is wife Persis' sister Rebecca who apparently died near 26 Dec 1864. Apparently she was living at some distance away.
  After assuming for several years that Rebecca Crawford was the wife of Amos Wilmot, references were discovered to the fact that Betsey Crawford was the wife of Amos Wilmot and she was listed in the 1870 census and supposedly did not die until about 1878. It now seems apparent that Rebecca was a sister-in-law to Amos Wilmot and a sister of Betsey, and perhaps had been living near to Amos and Betsey (Crawford) Wilmot.

Note:   Census records indicated a daughter born to John Crawford in this time p
c. Note:   ived of the death of Persis' sister Rebecca in a letter from Miss H. Wilmot. A later entry referred to a letter from brother Amos Wilmot. This information led us to believe that the wife of Amos Wilmot was Rebecca Crawford.

d. Note:   ave been a grandson? I have not found any indication thus far as to his origin or parentage.
  Per "History of Knox Co., Vol. 2, 1912, pg. 667 from the sketch of Jesse Wilmot:
 sent to me by Paula Scott <pcs1@home.com> in Nov 2000.
  "He was born on 2/17/1836 to Amos and Betsey Crawford Wilmot. Amos
 was born in CT in 1803 and reared and educated there. He moved to NY,
 working as a shoemaker until his marriage. He bought a farm in Steuben
 Co. when he married. The family move to Sparta [Illinois] Twp. in 1836.
 Betsey Crawford Wilmot was a native of NY, she died in 1878 at the age
 of 70."
  Paula wrote that her date of death matches what I have found in the census data,
 as she is listed in the 1870 Sparta Twp., Knox Co., IL Fed. census.
