a. Note:   ho was in college 13 March 1899 in response to an apparent request from him for information about his grandparents. She informed him that his grandfather was born in Topsham, VT and his grandmother in Bolton Province, Quebec and sent an outline of her husband's family, calling it the Benjamin Banfill Family Record.
  Sarah Foster was a niece to Susanna Holland. Susanna was the wife of Benjamin's and Joel's brother Nathan Mills Banfill. According to Hugh Banfill Joel and Sarah did not have any children.
  A contact on one of the Rootsweb mailing lists purchased a book called The
 Photographic History of Dracut, Mass. She came across a small write up in it which reads:
 "Mrs. Sarah Banfill of New Boston in Dracut was a poet, an artist, a musician, and a close friend of Lucy Larcom of Lowell mill-era fame."
