Notes
a. Continued:   May Barcume was the daughter of Moses Barcume and Katharine Maria Smith. She married James Harley Banfill 1883 in Humboldt County, Iowa.
From her obituary we learn May moved from near Sparta, Wisconsin while a young child to a home near Livermore, Iowa where she was raised and where she was married. A letter to her son from Sarah Foster Banfill indicates she was learning to play the piano. Her granddaughter Katherine Banfill indicated she was artistic and the family has a picture of May that is believed to be a self portrait. Evidently May (Barcume) Banfill and her son James both enjoyed photography.
b. Continued:   Birth date noted as 24 May 1862 in her Mother's diary.
c. Continued:   Article stated Steve Banfill was boarding the east-bound passenger train last Friday ...he was married last Sunday to Miss May M. Barenure, a very estimable lady of that place. They were married in Humbolt County, near Livermore, IA.
