Notes
a. Continued:   Family notes say Armenia lived in Illinois until she was 16. We do not know an exact date for when Andrew and family left Ohio but they were in Lorain Co. per the Federal Census in 1830. The family was found in Boone, Boone, IL in the 1850 census. They were in Waverly, Bremer Co. Iowa by 1870. Charles Pike, who married their daughter Armenia, was living with the family in 1860.
Per Susan Johnson a Roswell Daily died in 1847. It appears likely this Roswell was the brother of Andrew and an uncle to the Andrew's son Roswell born in 1848. Susan found the documentation that the father of this older Roswell was Ebenezer Daily. Andrew Daily was listed in the administration documents for Ebenezer Daily. Research on the Dailys turned up one other Daily family (a Dr. Truman Daily) in the vicinity of Avon and Elyria, but it appears they are not related.
Andrew Daily was administrator on the estate of Samuel Keys of Avon, Lorain, Ohio; widow Mercy Keys. Adm. date May 23, 1837. Mercy would have been his sister.
From the History of Bremer County Iowa we learn that Andrew DAILY was on the original board of trustees of the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Waverly, Iowa along with Reuben H. Ellsworth, George W. Baskins Sr., John Glassford and Hiram Lamson p. 1286). On June 17 1854 he was appointed to a board of trustees for the church and parsonage at Jamesville (p. 1086). He was elected coroner 3 August 1857 (p. 898). Andrew Dailey erected a house in 1865 in Waverly that later was a hotel called the Waverly House kept by Charles Kinnie (p. 1285). It is now the home of the Bremer County Historical Society. An Andrew Daily (presumably this Andrew) was elected coroner in Bremer Co. Iowa 5 August 1855 (p. 898).
There is a picture from an old family photo album containing Pikes and Dailys which is likely Andrew Daily, Sr. There is one of a woman who is likely his wife Sally Mariah. Both pictures were taken by H.P. Kirk of Mason City, Iowa. There are several small pictures of Homer, Andrew, Jr. and Roswell Keyes Daily. There is another picture of a mother with a young child. Perhaps it is Julia with her son Lee. Another possibility would be Roxie with one of her sons.
I posted a post-em note to another database in 2003 containing William Daily who might possibly be a relative to Ebenezer. Looking for how William DAILY b. 1811 NY and wife Amy link to Ebenezer DAILY b. abt 1780 and wife Dorcus of Sodus, Ontario, NY and later Lorain Co., Ohio. The eldest son of Ebenezer, Andrew lived in Boone, Boone Co., IL in 1850 and William lived in 1850 in Bonus, Boone Co., IL. The latter had children Nancy and Edwin DAILY. Would like death dates, spouses, and where they lived.
Fellow researcher Flora McCarty shows a strong DNA match (65 cM) to this writer's family project. Her brother Oran is 91 cM. They descend through Armenia's brother Stewart Alexander Daily. Tammie Stoops is another current descendant of this family as is Dakota Kirkwood, both who share DNA. Jennifer Vandehey matches at 97.7 cM.
b. Continued:   Per his tombstone Andrew Dailey was born on September 23, 1806.
c. Continued:   Andrew Daily was enumerated in the 1870 census on the 24th of July 1870.
d. Continued:   Roswell K. and Homer B. were living with Andrew and Sally in the 1870 census. The IGI on www.familysearch.org gave different marriage date and place than did the earlier IGI record. The 1988 IGI gave date of 30 Nov 1824 in Hamilton Co., OH. The Lorain Co. place and 1829 date were later proved by the marriage record. Levi and Ephraim Keyes Carpenter in Lorain Co. appear to be Mariah's family.
The marriage record from Lorain Co. Ohio reads "I certify that Andrew R. Dailey and Mariah Carpenter were united in marriage before me 9th April 1829; J. B. Jamison Justice of the Peace."
