Notes
a. Note:   on was born about 1812/13 in Bolton Twp, Quebec. He apparently had a first wife who died in childbirth 1832/3 before he married Hannah Magoon.
John Folsom wrote in a message board posting 11 Jan 2002:
Stephen Place, III, b. 1810, married ca.1831. His wife died in childbirth in 1832 or 1833. In the meantime, Hannah Magoon, b. May 1805, had married ca 1823 ______ Randall, who also died ca. 1830. Stephen had lived with his father after his marriage and his sisters kept house, etc.
Stephen Place, III, married Hannah Magoon on March 24, 1834. Their first child, Aylmer, was born in 1836. By the time of the 1842 census , the couple had three of their own children plus three of Hannah's children by her first husband living with them. They were still living with Stephen II, as were two or three of Stephen's sisters.
Apparently Eliza Place who married Lewis John Reed was not a daughter of Stephen Place and Hannah Magoon. She was found in the 1850 and 1860 census as a child of Edward G. Place and Rowena Steinhour.
Note:   John Folsom indicated he believed Stephen Place who married Hannah Mago
b. Note:   rt, Orleans, VT and noted that he was widowed. There appears to be no proof that the Stephen dying 1873 is the Stephen Place who married Hannah Magoon. Per John Folsom this is likely the Stephen Place born 1787, the father of the Stephen Place who married Hannah Magoon.
Tony Elbridge indicates the death date to be 24 Oct 1849 and indicates Stephen Place is buried in the East Bolton Cemetery. Stephen Place left widow Hannah Magoon who is buried in that cemetery. Bev Walkling in her DNA database gave death date as 28 May 1855. She has viewed the tombstone personally at the family farm where Stephen PLACE is buried. However, the owner of the property just showed her the loose tombstone and apparently lets no one see the actual burial site or view tombstones of other people who might be buried there.
Note:   Valerie George gave an entry: Death Stephen Place 9 Jan 1873 in Newpo
c. Note:   ife of Stephen Place II per John Folsom in 2002.
Note:   Hannah Magoon is likely the wife of Stephen Place III and not the 3rd w
