a. Note:   f Persis' sister Rebecca from H. Wilmot and in another entry he mentioned a letter from Amos Wilmot who he called brother. The assumption had been made that Rebecca was married to Amos Wilmot, but since the census and other material describes Amos' wife as Betsey Crawford, Rebecca was likely married to someone else and living nearby Amos and Betsey. Rebecca could have fit in the family in several places including the female born about 1788/89 as well as where she is now placed between 1801 and 1809.
  Rebecca's sister Betsey and her husband went to Sparta, Knox, Illinois about 1836. Once can assume that Rebecca may have gone about the same time.
