a. Note:   le, NY. Following the death of her father she went to Iowa with her mother and others from the family about 1868. She evidently met her husband in Iowa.
  Mary moved with husband Blanchard Barrett, son of Orrin Hale Barrett and Lovina Baley Streeter to No. Dakota and from there to Minnesota (homesteaded in northern Hubbard Co. about 12 miles southwest of Bemidji, MN). Apparently the farm was a few miles west of Wadena. Later they moved to Park Rapids. Edith Pike Gilbert indicated in her 1912 DAR application that Mary was then living in Duluth, Minnesota. After Blanchard's death she moved in with her daughter Nellie (Mrs. E. K. Cooper) in Evanston, Ill. Nellie had four children, but none of them married. At the time of her death, Mary (Pike) Blanchard had brothers Charles and Orville Pike and sister Ella (pike) Maben living. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church (Wadena?).
