a. Continued:   James Harley Banfill was the son of Stephen Place Banfill and May Barcume and the wife of Winifred Jennie Pike whom he married in 1911.
  James Harley Banfill taught math and science in a number of schools in WA state including Issaquah and Nooksack. Others included Deming, Rochester, and Lester. After retiring from teaching he worked for the Washington State Employment Agency and after retiring from there worked at the Tacoma Boy's Club. He worked right up until the time he was taken ill with pneumonia. While in the hospital, he had a stroke from which he did not recover. He had a keen intellect and a variety of interests including photography, botany, learning new languages.
