a. Note:   Y and that she went to Iowa in 1860. We read that her husband met her at Dubuque and went by ox team to Hancock Co., Iowa. There they spent their married life on a farm in Ellington Township, about 11 miles southeast of Forest City. After leaving her farm in Hancock, Co. in 1909 she went to live with her daughter Miss Alice Maben. She is buried in the Madison Cemetery next to her husband who died in 1900. Elvira died of apoplexy per death certificate.
  Elvira Pike and Grover Maben, son of Benjamin Maben and Diadama Buell, were married 8 March 1859 in Colesville, Broome Co., NY in a double wedding with his brother Hamblin B. Maben of West Colesville and Carrie Lott of Binghamton, NY. They were married by Rev. William H. Allaben at his home. Grover's and Hamblin's sister Diadama Maben was married to Rev. Allaben.
