a. Note:   808 in Williamstown, Mass. He was named in Joel Baldwin's will to receive $50. In Joseph Pike's pension application file of 1818, Joel Pike was living with his father and reported "out of health".
The 1825 NYS Census for Colesville indicated 2111. Information from the 1830 Federal census indicates that Joel had married and had children. In his household were Joel age 30 to 40 years, a female 20 to 30 years, each of one male and one female 5 to under 10 years and one male under 5 years of age. By 1840 Joel appears to have moved to Greece, Monroe County, New York where we find Joel age 40 to 50, his wife aged 30-40, one each males 10 to 15 and 15-20 and females one each under 5 and 5 to 10. By 1850 the family appears in Clinton, Franklin County, Ohio. His wife Permelia who is presumably a second wife is 42 and Joel is 50. They have children Clarissa age 10, Alma 8, Ruth 6, Luther 4, and Simon age 2. In the next household is Orlando Pike 26 with wife Pluma age 19 along with his brother Albert, age 23. Joel, Orlando, and Albert are all designated farmers.
Note:   Joel Pike was apparently named after his uncle Joel Baldwin who died in 1
