Note: a Pike's daughter was listed as Rachel in the Hawkins Genealogy, v. 2 and by Mrs. Pearsall in her handwritten Hawkins genealogy. Her paternal grandmother was named Rachel and it would not be unlikely that she was named after her. William Pike makes reference to his sister without naming her in the 1817-31 journal, noting she had died at age 34 in 1828. On reviewing my notes from the Pittsfield library, the E. I. Shepherd card for Pikes lists Elisha, Samuel, Robert and also Mary Elizabeth who married George E. Lucas. In the Williamstown Vital Records to 1850, there was a Rachel A. wife of C. H. Cummings who died [1827]. Could this be Rachel Pike?
Note: I do not know the original source of the name Rachel. Joseph and Rebecc
