  John graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma in 1935. He was apparently born in Humboldt Co., Iowa and went from there to Bristow, Nebraska, arriving in Tacoma on 19 September 1929. He was an engineer who worked in the refrigeration industry for 50 years.
