Notes
a. Note:   ne, granddaughter of Deborah Betsey Barnhart Stotenbur who was the daughter of a Putnam for which Mabel had no given name and Joseph Barnhart who supposedly lived to be 107 years of age. We later came to believe Deborah is the daughter of Sarah Putman and Joseph Barnhart and granddaughter of George Putman.
Mabel wrote for the generation preceding Deborah Betsey Barnhart and Almond Stotenbur that the Stotenbur's were Holland Dutch and that they were the first settlers of Manhattan, NY. She indicated with a question mark that Gen. Putnman of "Revolutionary ill fame" was related to Stotenburs on Barnhardt side? She thought perhaps Gen. Putman was a 2nd cousin to Deborah Barnhardt/Barnhart.
According to Mabel Perrine Sutherland (grandmother of Margaret Scheffler), the Gridley book gives the history of Stotenburs from the settlement of Manhattan. Although my grandmother who died in 1927 was correct on much of her information, she was not correct on the possible Gen. Israel Putnam relationship. And I have never been able to locate what she described as the Gridley book.
Note:   Sarah Putman or Putnam was not directly identified by Mabel Grace Perri
