a. Note:   Isham entered into the Revolutionary War in 1777 in Albemarle County, VA. under Captain London Jones and Lieutenant James Woods. Stationed along seaboard watching British shipping, with the First Virginia Regiment. Re-enlisted and served under Captain Harris, Leaks, Thomas, Wharton, and Colonel Matthews and General Nelson. For a time he was with General Lafayette at Jamestown.
 He Applied for pension May 11, 1833, Kanawha County, Va. Certificate issued September 16, 1833. Died
 January 4, 1835. Reference to his son, Isham Bailey, Jr.
  Isham arrived in Kanawha County, VA 1805-1806, and settled land that he was granted for his service during the War.
