Note: CHILD IS KILLED UNDER ICE TRUCK
Driver of Truck is Held for Manslaughter;
Backed Without Warning, is Charge
Crushed under the wheels of a heavy ice truck, which was moving backwards, Vincent Goll 3 years old, 449 Park Street, was killed Thursday morning in front of 443 Park Street.
The boy was hurried to Emergency Hospital, but was dead on arrival there. Physicians said he suffered internal injuries and fractures of the skull.
After investigation, Motorcycle Policeman John Drefahl arrested Frank Minur, 633 Fiftieth avenue , alleged driver the truck, owned by Wisconsin Ice and Cartage Company.
Munur was arraigned immediately before Judge George Page in District court on a charge of manslaughter and gave a continuance of 10 days. Bail was set at $2,500.
According to the police, the truck was parked with the front wheels about three feet from the curbing while Minur was delivering ice to 443 Park Street. On leaving the house, Minur is alleged to have backed the machine without sounding warning.
The rear wheel passed over the chid's body. It was removed to the morgue.
