Stuart and Ollie Pearl Linder told Johnnie that the death date of
John Wesley McNew was about 1912-1913. Ruth Linder reported that the
death date is not on the headstone located in Center Ridge, AR Sula
Stuart was grandaughter of John Wesley McNew.
There are several US Census' below. Looks like after consideration
that only two census' can actually be Mary Janes family.

The following information comes from Ollie Morgan Linder and Sula
Stewart cousin of Ollie Pearl Linder. It was reported that Elizabeth Ellen
McNew was really John Wesley McNew's cousin. She was raised by her
husbands father, "John" who was brother to her father.
We have thought for years that John's wife was Elizabeth but it appears that
only one census above had Mary in it. The 1880 census. Elizabeth who married
John was in 2 different US census'. The 1880 and the 1900 Census. Mary (Jane) did
not appear in the 1900 census (baceuse she was married) with John and Elizabeth.
 Only in the 1880 census.
It appears like the correct mother for Mary was Isabella.
Ruthie Linder Crandall 480-892-2570 daughter of Johnnie and Ruth Linder
believes that these were two separate families. These census's are not offered
as proof but are something to work on.
The 1850 census Cherokee City in Alabama lists two or three McNew families.
One of them has an Elizabeth listed as the daughter of William McNew. Along
with Lucy, Rebecca, Jerimiah?, Hannah, Valentine, and Robert. No dates are
offered. William is from Tennessee and Elizabeth is from Tennessee. All the
 others are from Alabama.
Look up the 1850-70 census's. Ruthie Linder Crandall had some notes on John
McNew's father and mother, James and Sarah. She also has notes on Elizabeth
born 1850, mother named Sarah born 1825 father named Elijah born 1812.
 ______________________________
Ruth Linder, Ruthie's mother, has it a little different for John's father, she said,
"I do not have a James and Sarah as John McNews parents. It could be but I
don't have it. We were told his father was John. The family rumer is that John
Wesley and Elizabeth Ellen McNew were cousins. We do not really know who
their parents were. Elijah McNew and Sarah were given as names for Elizabeth
Ellen's parents. We have a John McNew listed as father of John Wesley but I
don't have any mother listed. I have an 1805 birthday for Elijah born in Tennessee."
