The book tells of a church (The Church of God in Christ) he started and mentions his father. James Manuel Morgan told his grandson Johnnie Wesley Linder that his father's name was William D. Morgan. MABY Burial: Chestnut Creek Cemetery Verbena, Chilton County, Alabama, USA Created by: David Simpson Record added: Jun 17, 2011 Find A Grave Memorial# 71512999 William Morgan who married Emma Clementine Scoggins is not John Redman's son <cvolper@cox.net> My name is Mike Crandall. I found you on new familysearch. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=mr&MRid=47188165 I am researching my wife's genealogy. Her g-grandfather was James Manuel Morgan whose father was William Morgan born abt 1832 North Carolina, died 20 Sep 1872 Alabama, buried Chestnut Creek Baptist Church, Chilton, Ala. whose wife was Emma Clementine Scoggins. We have been looking and looking and looking for the father of William Morgan. It was exciting to find in new familysearch a father for William Morgan. You listed John Redman Morgan and Nancy as the parents of William Morgan (who married Emma Clementine Scoggins). However sources are not listed. That is what I would like to have to be able to connect William Morgan to John Redman Morgan. Do you have any sources. Would you please send me what you have? Thank You! Mike Crandall Hi. I'm not sure if I can help you. I have a son for John Redmond Morgan named William, but he d. as a child (1878-1879)There is also a nephew of John named William living in his household in 1880 who was b 1857 in AL. Neither of these could be your William. Since Willis is one of my family lines, I was working on John's marriage to Margaret Elizabeth Willis. I don't know who his wife Nancy is. I suppose since "John" and "Morgan" are such common names, we could be talking about completely different people, although the marriage dates and Nancy's death date do work out. Do you have Ancestry.com? I found the family in 1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses, plus a confederate pension record and a picture of John's headstone. Good luck in your search! List of William D.
