  50 years Wedding Anniversary
On 9th of July 1920, the golden anniversary of marriage of S.H. and Mary F. Scoggins, was held at their home in East Morrilton.
From the union of this couple eleven children were born, nine of which are living. All the children attended the celebration except oldest son, C.L. Scoggins who resides in Oklahoma. Among those present were: H.H. Scoggins and 2 sons from McAlister, Okla; S.S. Scoggins and wife of Morrilton; W.E. Scoggins, wife and three daughter, of Little Rock; A.A. Scoggins and daughter, of Morrilton; our Son in law J. J. Oliver, wife and two daughters of Altus, Ark.; John Q. Fisher, wife and daughter, of Plainview Ark.; J. A. Williams, wife, two sons and a daughter, of Little Rock; our grandson and granddaughter, Charley Piel and wife Virginia, of Little Rock; our grandson R .Q. Crouthers, wife, two sons and a daughter, of Plumerville; our niece and nephew, R. Tye and wife, of Conway; our niece Ida Gwin and two daughters, of Morrilton. We have 43 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Our youngest daughter weighs 300 pounds, and the other eight children weigh from 265 down to 210 pounds which I believe is the heaviest family in the state of Arkansas.
They were all reared in Conway County, Ark., in the vicinity of Morrilton. We have lived for 49 years in this county.
This being our golden wedding anniversary, we were surprised at the gold and gold-bound china ware that we received and we have no language at our command to express our appreciation for the many presents we received.
It was a most happy reunion, with our relatives, friends and neighbors
 S.H. and Mary F. Scoggins
