Note: Funeral services for Zella Borneman, 90, Hubbard Hill Estates, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Hartzler-Gutermuth Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Chapman of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.
Mrs. Borneman died Friday afternoon, Oct. 18, 1985, at the Americana Healthcare Center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1894, in Jeffersonville, Ind., to Leroy N. and L. Myrtle (Hause) Howard. She married George O. Borneman on April 22, 1914, in Elkhart. He died April 27, 1954, in Elkhart.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn Lansche, Elkhart; three sons, the Rev. George H., Elmhurst, Ill., William T., Oconto, Wis. , and John C., Ventura, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Gravatt, North Fort Myers, Fla. A sister, Ida Rae DeWitt, is deceased.
Mrs. Borneman was a life member of the Elkhart General Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Riverside Club, the A.I. Chapter of the PEO Sisterhood and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Memorials may be made to the Elkhart General Hospital Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
