 Obituary
This Sunday last, at Lower Norton,
the death occurred of an old and
respected resident in the person of
Mr. Charles Henry Bond, aged 56.
The deceased, who was widely known and
esteemed all over the Wimmera, came
to the district about 40 years ago,
but after a few years of residence
relocated to the Colac district, from
which he returned about five years
ago. He took up land at Lower
Norton and worked it up to the
time of his illness, which was but a
short one. Mr. Bond, who was the
second son of the late James Bond,
of Kalkee, leaves a widow and
grown-up family of two sons and
four daughters. The remains were in-
terred in the Nurrabiel cemetery on
 Tuesday, the funeral being largely
 attended. The pall-bearers were Mes-
srs James Flack, junr., H. Townsend,
 N. Carmichael, J. Flack, senr., J.
Harman and J. Flack. The service
at the graveside was solemnised by
the Rev. Mr. Fowler, of Noradjuha,
and Mr. A. F. Weight carried out
 the mortuary arrangements.
