Notes
a. Note:   He was in the Revolutionary War & served under General George Rogers Clark in the "Virginia Line" as a private. He was one of the earliest settlers of Macon Co., MO & was buried with "the honors of war" in an unmarked grave near Antioch Church, south of Bevier, MO. His death notice was in the Liberty Weekly Tribune (MO) dated 27 Dec 1850. He likely was one of the "Bold Frontiersmen" called "Long Knives" that served under Clark. They marched on Vincennes, IN in the winter of 1779 and captured it from the British. The previous year, Clark had marched on Kaskaskia, IL and captured the territory from the British and claimed it for VA. The Anne Helm chapter of the DAR in Macon Co., MO had a plaque hanging in the Macon Co. courthouse with his name along with the names of 3 other Macon Co. Revolutionary War Veterans names on it.
