The JR of the Ewing's fame, (TV show Dallas) has nothing on our JR, it seems. I am very relieved to know that he divorced Nancy Heard before he took Victoria for his bride. Seems he wandered into Texas, married Victoria. Their first child died as a baby. He fancied himself a doctor and moved his wife north where he thought he could make a better living. North, it seems was Arkansas, where he met up with a Sarah Alexander. He sent Victoria back to her mother in Matagorda County, Texas. She arrived pregnant and broke. He married Sarah Alexander, then, apparently left her and went back to Mississippi, where he married Sarah Baxter, Sandra Doolittle's relation. WHAT A GUY!! I didn't think things like that went on in the 1800's. Today, it would be no big deal....lol. I have the book by Ann Raney Coleman, Victoria's mother that describes Joseph R. as a stranger, well spoken and charming....that fits in with he info that Sandra Doolittle has on him. Again, thank you for answering... Carol believes Joseph R. Waldrop was her gg grandfather. Her great grandfather was Joseph H. Waldrop
