a.	Note: d the Confederate Army. He enliste 22 Marc h 1863 at Vienna, Louisiana. He served as a private in Com pany E, Twelth Louisiana Infantry. His brothers, William n orris and Cornelius also served in Company E. This compan y served in Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, and North Carolina with General Joseph E. Johnston a nd General JohnB. Hood. Thomas Jefferson fought in the sie ge of Jackson, Mississipi in Jly 1863. Operations agains t he Expedition from Vicksburg to Meridian, Mississippi in Fe bruary and March, 1864, in the Atlana, Georgia Campaign fro m May to September, 1864 and in the Battles of Franklin an d Nashville, Tennessee in November and December 1864. He w as captured by the enemy at Franklin, Tennessee 17 December , 1864 and was sent to Military Prison at Louisville, Kent ucky in January 1865. He was received 9 January, 1865 at C amp Chase, Ohio. He was sent to Richmond, Virginia where h e was paroled. He started home and the command surrendere d before he reached home. Thomas J. Autrey held the first reunion of Company E. in Oc tober, 1912 at his home in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. Fo r at least two ten years these reunions wer held annually i n the homes of the veterans of Company E, according to R. J .
