Notes
a. Note:   ht Joseph Mark Heard. We do feel strongly that it is however.
All the info I have is limited to the fact that Joseph Mark was married twice and that one of those wives was a Boyce <Boyd>. This was his second wife. Henrietta is the name of his daughter, she was born to the first wife. We know that he died en route to Atlanta supposedly to claim an inheritance around 1870.
He served with Co E 11th AL, CSA <Yancey's Rifles>. This regiment was from St. Stephens AL. We know he was POW at Point Lookout MD. And we know that he served as a nurse.
We know that he was a blacksmith/mechanic and that he lived in the household of Henry Atchison in St. Stephens AL. This was about 1860. His wife was listed at that time as Frances.
My great grandfather was John Harris. He had 3 sons: Thomas Jackson Harris <my grandfather>, Walter Harris, and Frank Harris. Thomas Jackson Harris married Henrietta Heard. They bore 3 sons James Archie <my dad>, John Thomas <Nyoka's dad> and Joseph Mark <no marriage>. They also bore 4 girls Mamie, Jesse, Ollie and Pearl.
Could go on to tell you the names of the next generation and the next etc but won't bore you with that at this time. Was just trying to maybe shed a little light that could help with your search. I do know, however; that our line of Harris' came from North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Some then migrated to Louisiana and Texas.
Hope this can in some way help with your search. Look forward to future communications and if you have any more info on Joseph Mark <such as his death on the riverboat> I would be delighted to hear from you. If you would like a phone conversation, just let me know what time would be most convenient to you and I would be happy to call.
  Sincerely, James Harris
Note:   We (James Harris, et. al.) have not yet made certain that this is the rig
b. Note:   (near this location) Muscogee County did not exist in 1820.
c. Note:   Missing from the 1870 census.
d. Note:   Date per DAR application 184464. On a riverboat
e. Note:   His second
