Per History of Ventura County, Vol. II, by E. M. Sheridan, Chicago, The S. J. Clarke Publishing Co., 1926, pages 75-76: " Frank R. Hennion is a prominent and well known citizen of Ventura, who for many years has represented the Union Oil Company's interests in Ventura county. He was born at Macomb, Illinois, on the 22nd of October, 1866, and is a son of Martin and Mattie (Reese) Hennion, the latter of whom died when our subject was but a child. The father moved to Colorado, where he enlisted in the Second Regiment, Colorado Volunteer Army, in which he rose to the rank of captain, and served until the close of the war. He then returned to Macomb, Illinois, which had been his home before the war, and became a commerical traveler. Later he engaged in the mercantile business, which he conducted until 1886, when he moved to San Diego, California, where he died. Frank R. Hennion received his education in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri, and then went to work in a drug store, where he remained three years. He then learned the wood-working and furniture business, at which he worked until coming to California with his father in 1886. Locating at San Diego, he went to work for the Russ Lumber Company as salesman, remaining with that concern until 1892, when he went to Los Angeles. He was there connected with several lumber companies until 1897, when he came to Ventura as the agent of the Union Oil Company, with which he has remained continuously since, being the pioneer employee of that company in the locality. Mr. Hennion was married to Miss Nellie Junod, of Los Angeles, who is a native of Highland, Illinois, and they are the parents of the following children: Harry M., who is a veteran of the World War, having volunteered in the naval service; and Mrs. Ruth Chaffee and Thomas. Mr. Hennion has taken a keen interest in his locality and was one of the prime movers in securing the building of the breakwater at Ventura."\par
