  Oct 11th - 1859—Died, at Hazlewood, near Prairieville, Mo, on the Friday, the 14th ult.s, in the 34th year of her life, Mrs. Susan H. Minor, consort of Col. N.P. Minor of Pike Co., Missouri.
  In her brief compass of an obituary notice, it would be impossible to unfold the sterling traits of character, possessed in large measure by this Christian woman. Her virtues were of an enduring type, more felt than seen, and they were proven in the furnace of affliction. Firmness, fortitude, patience, resignations, crowned with sweet humility and faith, marked her out, as a fit tenant for the home of the blessed, to which she has been translated. She was well suited by her education, her associations, her fine taste, her true appreciation of the virtuous and the good, to adorn and enliven any sphere of society in which she might move. For several years she has been quite shut out from the outward world; yet, even in the eye's eclipse, she drew from the well filled stores of a mind, ever studious of improvement and the perennial spring of deep and pure affections, compensation, for what would appear to be a weary lot.
