  Fontaine Meriwether, 82 years old, died today at his home at Lee's Summit, Missouri. For twenty years he was special agent and state adjuster in Kansas City for the America Fore group, affiliated fire underwriters.
  Born in Pike County, Missouri, Mr. Meriwether entered the insurance business in Sedalia, Missouri, coming to Kansas City from there. The family home here was at 5818 Central street. He retired in 1938 and moved to Lee's Summit. Mr. Meriwether was a charter member of the Country Club Christian church.
  He leaves his wife, Mrs. Carey Meriwether of the home; a son, Shannon Meriwether, Tryon, North Carolina; a daughter, Mrs. George A. Wallace, Lee's Summit; a brother, Montgomery Meriwether, Eolia, Missouri; and a granddaughter, Jane Meriwether, Tryon.

  Funeral services for Fontaine MERIWETHER, 82 years old, who died yesterday at his home at Lee's Summit, will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Country Club Christian church. Dr. George H. Combs, pastor emeritus, will officiate, with Warren Grafton, pastor, assisting. Burial will be at Sedalia. The pallbearers are R. E. Robertson, Dr. Dayton D. Campbell, Joseph S. Chick, Bert Steeper, O. A. Ramseyer and Hunt C. Moore.

  Fontaine Meriwether, 82 years old, former resident of Sedalia, died at his home in Lee's Summit, Thursday, according to word received in Sedalia. He had been in the insurance business and for twenty years was special agent and state adjuster and Kansas City for the America Fore group, affiliated fire underwriters.
  When in Sedalia the Meriwether family resided at Broadway and Barrett Avenue in the large home now occupied by Dr. J. E. Mitchell and family.
  Mr. Meriwether was born in Pike County. He entered the insurance business in Sedalia and resided here for many years prior to moving to Jackson County, going to Kansas City from Sedalia. The family home in Kansas City was at 5818 Central street.
  In 1938 he retired and moved to Lee's Summit. He was a charter member of the Country Club Christian Church, in Kansas City.
  Surviving are his widow Mrs. Carey Meriwether, a son Shannon, Tryon, N. C.; a daughter Mrs. George A. Wallace of Lee's Summit, a brother Montgomery Meriwether of Eolia, Mo., and a granddaughter Jane Meriwether of Tryon.
  Funeral services will be held in Lee's Summit Saturday afternoon, and the body brought to Sedalia for burial.
  Rev. A. W. Kokendoffer will conduct graveside services at Crown Hill cemetery sometime between 4 and 4:30 o'clock, the time depending upon the arrival of the funeral party in this city.
