  CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA., August 9—Hudson Martin, aged eighty-four years, one of the best-known residents of the county, is dead at his home near the Nelson County line, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at Rock Spring Church, at Faber, and will be conducted by Rev. Dupuy Holladay, assisted by other ministers.
  Mr. Martin was a native of Nelson County and many years ago engaged in the mercantile business in Baltemore. Later he became a clerk in the Virginia State Senate, holding the position for more than ten years. He was twice married, both wives being daughters of the late Ryland Rodes of Nelson County. Two sons and five daughters survive, also three brothers, Walker and Washington Martin, of Faber, and Charles Martin, Sr., of Greenfield.
