Note: N1872 Bismark Daily Tribune (Bismark, North Dakota), October 17, 1893 The International Temperance Congress Opens at Chicago Chicago, Oct. 17—It was the second biennial convention of the world's Woman's Christian Temperance Union, and the women it had brought together represented not only this continent but many other lands. Mrs. Ella Williams spoke for Canada, Miss Jessie McKernan for Australia, and Miss Lida Meriweather of Tennessee for the temperance women of the United States.

Note: N1869 Cincinnati Daily Gazette (Cincinnati OH), 13 Apr 1880, p. 5 (Tuesday) Tennessee Claimants of Ohio Land Lucy Virginia French, of Tennessee, and her husband, John H. French, and Lida P. Meriwether and her husband, of Alabama, filed two bills in chancery in the United States Court yesterday against about eighty different defendants asking for the partition of a tract of land in Highland County in which they claim an interest, and an account of profits.
