  Mrs. Rebecca White, neé Merriwether, died last night at 10:20 o'clock at the residence of her son-in-law, Captain A. M. Reinhardt. She was ripe in spirit and years for the garner, having passed the meridian of her eighty-sixth year. She was a woman of force and character, but this was not the charm that attracted her host of admirers. It was her absolute unselfishness, her abounding charity and her intuitive sense of justice. She never spoke evil of any one, but was ever ready to excuse or vindicate all that were censured in her presence. The remains will leave at 11:55 o'clock today for Palmetto, Ga., where the interment will take place.
