Meriwether, William L., 2614 Richfield Rd., age 71, died Wednesday, August 9, 1961, at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 1961, from Chapel of Chimes, Brown Funeral Home, Rev. James C. Powell officiating. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Owosso, Michigan. Mr. Meriwether will lie in state at the Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davidson Rd. Death was sudden.
Mr. Meriwether was born in Piggott, Arkansas, October 14, 1889, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Meriwether. He was a member of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church. He was employed by Chevrolet Manufacturing Division for 20 years, retiring in 1945.
Surviving are: wife Addie; 3 daughters, Mrs. Ralph Yates of Davidson, Mrs. Eugene Winchester of Flint, Mrs. Norma Douglas of Swartz Creek; two sons, William E. and Donald E., both of Flint; stepson, Theo Dockery of Flint,; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ira of Berryville, Ark. and Rev. J. R. Meriwether of Campbell, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.
