Bonnie N. Malstead, 94, of Beatrice, died at her home on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012. She was born April 1, 1918, in Blue Springs and attended school and graduated in 1936. She married Robert V. Malstead on Oct. 14, 1938, at Scandia, KS. She worked at the Beatrice State Developmental Center for several years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Beatrice. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading.
Survivors include her son, Robert Lee Malstead of Beatrice; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Waldo and Laura Learned Meriwether; her husband, Robert who died February 4, 2002; three brothers, Donald, Robert and Howard Meriwether; four sisters, Margaret, Lois, Francis Maye and Daisy.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Evergreen Home Cemetery, with Pastor Dean Carlisle officiating. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. There will be no viewing. The body has been cremated. A register book for signatures will be available from noon until 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice and at the cemetery preceding the services Monday.
