Note: N2591 Norma R. MacCoy Norma was born and grew up in Morgan Park, Ill outside Chicago and actually had what was considered a college education in those days at a normal school studying to be a teacher. Her mother, Mary Stone was the daughter of a rabbi and from Boston. She left home as a young woman, lived at the Salvation Army in Chicago, and cleaned law offices. She read the law books and was one of the first women in the State of Illinois to pass the Bar. She worked as a lawyer but could only prepare briefs. Women were not allowed to appear in court.
